How to get blogs indexed by Google? (SEO) with Googles Webmaster Tool!

In this post, I am going to write about How to use Googles Webmaster Tool for SEO for your blogs or websites. We all want much more traffics and visitors in our blog/site. As we all know Google covers more than 70% of the web search all around the world. Ranking your site in google's search engine is the prominent way to achieve this. And trust me, it greatly effect the number of visitors arriving in your blog. Finally, the best part of google is that it provide us with the tool by the help of which we can optimize our sites in searches.

Google WebMaster Tool

Google WebMaster Tool is the free tool provided by google for optimizing your site in Google Search Engine. You need to have a google account to use this service. After you login in it, you will see a its home page which would look likes picture alongside:

Add Site and Verify your ownership:

If you are using your webmaster tool for first time, there will be no sites. So

Follow the following steps to add your site. Remember the site can be of any either blogspot.com or your own domain.

1. Click on Add 
2. Enter your site's name without "http://www."
3. Verify your ownership.

You can verify your ownership using different methods listed there. The "Add a meta tag to your site's home page" method is preferred one if you are using blogs or didn't own you own domain. Otherwise other options and instructions are available for you. 

Once you have verified that you own the site the "Manage" option would be enabled for you where now you are ready to optimize your site for search engine Google. Click on your website name after it has been verified to get started. Yeah.

WebMastering your verified site:

Welcome to dashboard of your verified site. If you have recently added your site, there would be no data to show or very few to show. Don't worry, you can see it after your site has been used in google search index with different data. Now how to tell google that you have a site with contents that are worth searching and can help people?

Umm. Before I go on, I would like to write something about sitemaps. For understanding, sitemaps are the xml files which contains all the informations that are contained in your sites in such a format so that google can find a match to show your site in google's search list (In my language). If you want to know more visit in wikipedia for detail information.

Sitemap for Blogspot.com 

So, now your step is to submit the sitemap of your blog or site. If you are using blog and using your domain from subdomain of blogspot.com, the default site map would be "atom.xml".  Follow following steps to submit sitemap of blogspot.com.

1. Click on "Submit a Sitemap".
2. Give "atom.xml" without quotes in box and click submit sitemap.

This would work great if you blogspot.com site doesn't has much pages / contents. But if you want to be more sure about each pages of sitemap, better add the following codes too.

• atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=100
• /atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=100&max-results=200

You can add more if you have more than 200 pages by changing start-index and max-result.

Sitemap for custom domains.

If you have a custom domains and need to submit a sitemap, then you need to first create sitemap of your website and then submit the url using above method. There are many free websites which would create your website's xml sitemaps for free of charge. One of  them is Xml-Sitemap. After you create it, submit the sitemap.

Crawler Access

Google bots need to crawl in your sitemaps for retrieving the keywords. So, you need to set the access type for google bots to crawl. Select "Allow All" in Generate robots.txt tab and for directiores and Files allow all using "/".

Statistics

You can use other settings also but the key thing is submitting the sitemap. After the submitted sitemaps has been reviewed by google bots, its status will show "tick" mark.

Now In Your Site on the web Tab, different data such as keywords, Search queries, links to your sites etc will be visible after some time when user googles your site and visit your site. 

Conclusion

Well, now your site has been submitted for page ranking in google search engine. The page ranking of your site strictly depends on following factors:

• How frequent you update your site's content (blogging is good).
• How frequent you re-submit the site maps.
• How much backlinks and internal links are present in your site.

NOTE: No SEO expert in world can guarantee the top 1 page ranking, it is because the google bots are bots which follow random algorithms to crawl the site. And it is spontaneous and random phenomenon. Cheating google for highest page ranking by back linking, can make high page rank but if google finds out your site would be totally banned from google search index. So be careful. Many has tried to cheat though, but what I say is "GOOGLE KNOWS EVERYTHING" So be honest.
